I think what is meant is the "Gardenias" - and when I was there the rooms were dingy (I remember carpet I thought should've been removed)... but it's been a while:

Yeah, Doug, Las Gardenias....
I stayed there every visit last year and never saw any carpet (maybe in the lobby?)... floors all tile. While I agree it's not Los Arcos, it's half the price. Get the right room and you've got a good breeze, a reasonable view of the water, a safe place for two women to stay that's an easy walk from the malecon. The pillows are weird there, though.:yes:

When in Todos, send them to see Frank at Shut Up Franks bar & grill. Spent a great Christmas dinner there one year. Ham, mashed potatoes, the works. Mmmmm.

It's Hotel Gardenias, Aquiles Serdan 520, Phone [612] 122-3088.

We've stayed there for years--always had a tile floor, no rug. Reasonable prices and there's a pool. Restaurant sometimes operative, sometimes not.

Restaurant's like the pillows - weird.
I still highly recommend the hotel.

By the way good info on hotels, I am always thinking what is in La Paz that is in my budget, but doesn't have that sewer smell coming up from the bathroon drains. done that a few times, eck.
