Pericu in Cyberspace
Internet-wise, you can call me naive (or, if you're Skeet, Navie).
Last night, just for the helluvit, I entered "pericu" on Google, Yahoo and Altavista. All three of these had, near the top of their list, Bajanomads,
so I clicked on that. And was immediately provided with the complete text of one--sometimes two--of the three "Deja Vu, Pericu" posts I had entered in
the history section of this board.
The replies were also there--including a fairly uncivil exchange following Deja Vu 2, which I, and I'm sure acadanarchist as well, would just as soon
not have floating around loosely.
I didn't realize that mention of a word on a message board was likely to be picked up and made available on a search engine.
This is a live-and-learn experience, no biggie (although I won't include a bibliography again). But I'm curious--is this sort of thing common, and
I've just been slow to catch on, or what?

What occured to you on your search engines is quite common. Type in your first and last name (if it's not to common), or your phone number, and
you'll sometimes be surprised what you will find.

How true Bob... I was told if you typed in my name you can read my articles on growing Bananas from 20 years ago, in the California Rare Fruit Growers
newsletters, now online!
See you guys knew I was fruity, huh?

Kumayaay Nation
Last year we traveled through an inland area of northern Baja California with a specific non-academic mission. We knew we were traveling through an
area dominated by some folks of the Kumayaay nation (several spellings of that name). When we got back, like Bajalera, I did a search using several
search engines to learn more. There were hundreds of "hits." The web is a heavy tool and will help us all grow. It's also fun to occasionally check
out what it knows about yourself. So far I've not found anything too embarrassing. Except, of course, the things I've written that I wished I
hadn't.

I have found the same
I have also been directed to this forum on a google search. I am sure that the FBI would be interested in David K's internet articles.

My posts on Baja Nomad seem to have made my google dossier endless. I can only imagine how many stu
pid things I've said in over 500 posts. But luckily, David's posted even more rot than I have. Hopefully, before they come to cart us away for our
beliefs, they'll at least get a good laugh.- Stephanie
