Dearest Mary Ann & Family...

I have been doing a lot of walking and meditating here in the big woods of Sonoma County. It was with much fear that I had to make the journey here in the first place, accute saddness to learn of your (our) loss. It was certainly not the loss I expected.
Michael is one of many cogs on my life wheel, now chipped, it of course still turns, but the balance is off and I can feel that it is already painfully wearing on me.
Yesterday, I sat on the shore of the Russian River, throwing rocks in, one after the other remembering conversations we had, stories he's told and the times he made me laugh so hard I wet myself. A few times, he made me so angry I could only sputter....
My point is, he inspires a passion in people that is a very rare gift. I didn't use 'the past tense' in that last sentence because he is still doing it and as long as I read and remember his stories, our many trips and conversations together, he will always have a place on my life wheel, right next to you.
I am so happy he accomplished his dream to finish that book of his, I will cherish it forever.
Mary Ann, Michael has brought many cheers and tears and I am just so gratefull and blessed that I was there for the ride. You, the boys and Michael will remain in my heart as always. God bless you with BIG HUGS,
M
