FM-3 TIP

FM-3 RENEWALS - When renewing your FM3, if you think you might even possibly want someone to pick it up for you when it is ready, be sure to fill in the part on the application for Power of Attorney.

You can no longer send a letter with someone and have them pick up your documentation. If you haven't filled out the part on the application then you will have to go to a Mexican Notary and have him complete a Power of Attorney for you before they will release your paperwork to anyone else. This does not apply to spouses.

I just renewed mine using my friend Alonso and boy oh boy what a relief not having to go to La Paz, I actually saved money by having him do it, not to mention saved the headaches and panic attachs when they come up with some idiotic crap, some obscure thing you are missing. I shall always use him now.

I used to do it in Guerrero Negro but something always went wrong there and it takes a long time and if something goes wrong you have to deal with the jefe in La Paz anyway so I started going to the source to do it. Because I live in Asuncion, the GN office is where my file is. But I really like the guy in Sta.Rosalia..good man.
