big clean up in Asuncion

I have noticed a huge improvement in garbage clean up over the past few years in Baja...lots of new garbage cans and clean up efforts on the highways. Our village just put cans around as well and finally a company came in to haul away all the junk cars almost everyone has in their yards (do to poor roads and no tow trucks to get rid of the junkers). They are hard at it and it has made a big difference to the appearance of our village. I'm sure some of you purists will bawk at yet another town improvement...some of you might miss our old green junker in front of our house...too bad...I certainly wont but the cats and rabbits will...Viva recycling!

Now that you mention it, I did not see the normal volume of blowing trash across the landscape in Asuncion as I have near many other Baja towns,
Another thing I like about the place besides, Shari, Juan, Sirena, Lupita, Armando, Bebeeto, Noway, whales, fishing, weather......
and Lucy and Martio !

Diver,

Funny that you should mention that. On our way back from BCS yesterday I noticed a load from a truck which went off the road north of LA Bay junction. The load.....not beer cans, not coke bottles, but recycled cars (crushed into 2' high chunks). Not a common sight in the past. Less and less wrecked cars and trucks left along the roadway. A "greener" Baja.:D

Zack will be peeed that it is gone.
You will have to get something else for the kids to play on.
Somewhere I have a shot of him inside it.

I have been hanging around Baja about 35+ years.
I appears that when the price of metal goes up the junk cars dissapear.
I guess its all economics???

I loved that car

So much character, so much charm, so much rust.

A new panga, and now this!

Welcome to suburbia, next will be neighborhood covenants.
