WANTED Suzuki DR 650 DUAL SPORT MOTORCYCLE
I have a $2000. budget. Would prefer an SE but an RSE would be OK, and if everything else was nifty (including the price), I'd forego the e-start.
Needs to be between San Francisco, Portland and Reno. Someone out there ready for something new? I've got your down payment!
Oops, too much tech talk. A DR is a dual sport motorcycle.

Vagabundo. Check with craigslist.com I'm sure you'll be able to find it there. Absolutely incredible website for people with "things for sale".

I already thought about and checked out craigslist. There is a wanted ad for a DR 650 SE. I suspect the ad belongs to Vagabundo.

Thanks Phil, I'm running every craigslist inside the triangle listed pretty much like a fisherman checking crab pots!!!
Also e-Bay, the NorCal Nickel, and next a WANTED on Thumper Talk.com.
My scooter is out there and I'm going to find it!

PJ...in a nutshell, short legs. On an unmodified DRZ400 my tip toes don't quite touch. Flat footed, my soles clear the ground by five inches.
Disgusting!!!
The DR 650 has the deserved reputation for having the lowest standard seat height in the class, and two simple modifications can bring it even lower.
There are obvious disadvantages to a bike that already has pretty soft suspension, but there are even bigger disadvantages from not being able to dab
a foot when necessary.
Checking new DRZ400's against new DR650Se's today, there is a four inch difference in seat height! One of the hot shoes at the shop in Redding is
cursed with the same inseam measurement as mine, and he was a big help in aiming me toward a machine that won't be too far gone to save before I can
get a toe on the ground!
Nothing against the KLR, and if I could afford one of the diesels, I think I'd figure out how to ride the thing.

Knowing Mt. Shasta in the winter time, and knowing about those "spooky folks that 'WALK THE MOUNTAIN' dressed in white seen from time to time, I
underand why Baja is one of your favorite places to be. And with a bike like the one your looking for, it doesn't take long to get to Baja either,
huh?????

Phil...to my knowledge every photo ever taken of me was done with my special mask in place. I actually have a third eye in the middle of my forehead
but it is so distracting to most folks that I always wear my mask in public.

FOUND IT.
Got just what I was looking for and at a fair price. Got it home last night from the Bay Area and have been riding and tinkering and adjusting and
riding all day.
20 years was too long to be off a motorcycle. As the tee shirt says, you don't quit riding because you get old, you get old because you quit riding.
With the two buddies I will ride with most often we have a combined age of 191 years.
Sunday we will circumnavigate Mt. Shasta in the dirt.
Big thumpers are cool.
