Made many a trip out of the Golden Gate. " Potatoe patch " is a scary stretch, even in a good size boat. Hate to have to do that in a raft. Wish the
old man lots of luck if he ever gets underway. Or maybe a similar endeavor to the SOC one

My bet is that the SFBay Coast Guard commander stops Mr. Neutrino as being on an unsafe voyage. It has happened before in SFBay.
As Vandenberg says, the Potato Patch has eaten better found boats than that for lunch and it's only five miles off the Golden gate Bridge.
I think Dave wins his bet and JimGrms is just barely wrong--he'll make SF and the commander will stop him. The gov't, in my humble opinion, was made
to protect idiots from themselves and leave the rest of us alone.

This is the Raft on which he sailed the Atlantic. While he was in Percebu for an extended period, he gave one of my neighbors a copy of his DVD in
exchange for some supplies and assistence. I have since burned numerous copies. It's pretty bad, but funny to watch ONCE.

Hello All, He was here in Sacramento, an left last week, made in down the River about 30 miles an broke-down in Rio Vista, under repairs now. Maybe
we can get Vandenburg to go with him an show him how its done???

He got underway again...
...from Herman & Helen's Marina, just outside of Stockton, last Friday. One of the Sacto TV stations showed them leaving the dock, live, as he
fired up his small outboard motor and move downriver.
He had a couple of old buddies as crew for the 75 mile trip down to the Golden Gate.
I can't help wonder if the Coast Guard won't intervene and prevent him from embarking on this voyage in his questionable craft...that is if he makes
it down to the bay!

If it has a CF number, what can they say? It could even pass a Coast Guard Auxiliary inspection regardless of the condition of the hull.

I wouldn't bet that the Coast Guard will stop him from leaving SF. He was allowed to make his Atlantic Voyage, although they required him to have an
EPIRB on board.
In the couple of instances that I've read of where the CG stopped a "Manifestly Unsafe Voyage", the capability of the sailor was cited as more
important than the condition of the vessel. The one I read of in SoCal had no offshore sailing experience at all. Judged in that respect, Neutrino
DOES have extensive successful Bluewater sailing experience.
I would agree that he should leave the Dog behind. I remember when I heard about Art Scholl disappearing forever in the ocean, I felt sorry, not for
him, but for his dog that he insisted on flying with.

This guy is hilarious,the last I heard he was in Puertecitos for repairs with
decks awash he was looking for more buoyancy I think.
If he,s really lucky he just might make in time for the typhoon season Has anyone seen a pic of his latest rig?
