Best Free Maps of Baja
After looking around for a while, for a good free map of Baja, I found two that I like. The first one is of Northern Baja and the second one is of
Southern Baja. I have saved these .pdf files to my computer so I do not need to be connected to the internet to view them.

Try using the zoom feature in Adobe to make it larger. It will zoom in a long ways.

It would be interesting for someone who is in an area where recent road construction has been done to check and see just how up to date these maps
are. I did find a date that says 2006 but who knows if the full map was updated then.

Doesn't show the new Hwy 2 toll bypass on the south side of Mexicali, which opened around October last year. No sign of the Calexico East (Garita II)
crossing either, which is strange as that's been there much longer!
One slight disadvantage of these "official" federal maps is the place names are sometimes official, rather than what is really used. So Algodones has
it's official name on the map (Vicente Guerrero) but no road signs will point there. (on the distance chart they list Los Algodones, even though it's
not shown on the map).
At least for "Rodolfo Sanchez Taboada" the real-world name (Maneadero) is in brackets.
San Matias seems to be totally missing.

Nice links.... thanks for sharing those. But, the Baja map from AAA is free (if you're a member) and works great and it's regularly updated.
For maps that are NOT free, I would highly recommend the Baja Almanac map book.

Maps
I have seen reference, on the Nomad, to people who have the Baja almanac on Disc... I live in Todos Santos and would like to aquire the almanac on
disc. Anyone with it close to Todos Santos,..... or able to refer me???

I converted the PDF of BajaCalifornia to Jpeg and calibrated it in Ozi Explorer - when calibrating by lat/long, east coast area was quite a way off,
then re-calibrated using UTM and it seem pretty right on. Pretty old data for some of the roads but not too bad for general use. One good thing you
can zoom in a lot without a lot of loss of clarity.

best not free map of baja
is capt. mike's giant baja map.
see all you want to know about em on the classified section.
6'X7', full color, full topo, all baja, most of SOC and Sonora.
nuthin like it anywhere.
turn your wall into a baja mural!!
mark notes and trips/routes all over it for posterity.
amaze your friends with all your knowledge of the peninsula...........or just get loaded stare at it and wish you were not going to work that
week............
