I finished reading my book from the book signing!
Graham Machintosh " Into A Desert Place "
It was excellent! Definitely a classic like Ray Cannon's book.
Graham is funny too. It's strange but I've had many similar experiences like the he discribes in his book.
I can't wait to read another.
I kinda wish I would have bought a couple more of the books at the signing.
Is there a list somewhere of all the authors that were present?

read his burro hike book, or is that the same one? - i borrowed one last year and read it. had some good parts and some too slow for my tastes but he
really is a great story teller with quite a knack for details.

1) Into a Desert Place (Graham walks 3,000 miles along the coast of Baja, a burro named Bonnie helps carry supplies in the final section).
2) Journey with a Baja Burro (Graham walks 1,000 miles from Tecate to Loreto with Mision the burro)
3) Nearer My DOG to Thee (Graham spends a summer in the Sierra San Pedro Martir with dogs, mushrooms and lightning)

I read "Into A Desert Place" and came away with the feeling that Macintosh felt blessed to have escaped with his life. It wore me out to read it.
Dehydration, starvation, heat, despair....... Jeezo, not my idea of a trip to Baja. I know he was glad when it was over.

Just finished all three books. Great stories.....in those days I never made any further south than La Especial's in T.J
We used to get off work at Midnight and our hole squad would go down for Tacos in uniform covered only with a sweater or jacket.

Hey Bernie! Ya I think I'll reAd one of yours next. Are they in series or can they be read in any order.

Some of us were looking for the book...Baja California Where the Old West Never Died.............Thought I found a copy but it was bought out from
under me...........so to speak.
You can read my books in any order but I have been told that the order I listed them above is the best read. But the last one should be read 'last.'
