TJ restaurant info please
Does anybody know how to get to the restaurant cien a?os in TJ. Street names directions ? If not does anybody know of a nice restaurant to go for
lunch ?
I need to go to TJ tomorrow and would like to treat my mother and wife to a nice lunch. Thanks Paul

La Espada?a
I can't tell you about Cien A?os, but here is a great choice, La Espada?a. You can thank ElGatoLoco for this find. I tried it too and it was great.
It is just a block North of TGIF and Sam's Club Warehouse. Its street is parallel to Ave. de los Heroes to the west.

Heres a list of good restaurants for lunch:

2.-Casa Plasencia

Thanks for the info on la Espada?a. I read the thread and it sounds great. I also wrote down the address because you never know when hunger will
strike.
When I meet up with the group in nuevo mazatlan and introduced myself the first words out of David K's mouth was " hey everybody it's tunaeater the
one that took desert rat out for the Mexicali night life". I didn't know weather to be embarssed or proud. D'rat and I had a good time and I enjoyed
taking him out. I'm trying to get him back over here for round 2...

Paul, I hope you post here more frequently now. That way, I won't have to add the Desert Rat connection (but, that was your most memorable post, so
far!).

Cien Anos is right by the Abraham Lincoln statue... I was a pasenger in Lorenzo de Baja's truck, so that's the best directions I can provide.

Directions
I assume you know how to get from the border onto Paseo de los Heros heading east? That's the avenue that runs past the cultural center and the large
shopping mall. (Both on your left.)
Head east passed the circle with the Indian. Continue on to the next circle (Lincoln). Circle counter clockwise (make believe you are at six and
circle back left to nine). Head north one block (as far as you can go) turn right (the only way available) and go one short block. Right turn again
and you will see it mid-way up the street on your right. They will valet your car. Let them, it's safe.

If you make it to Cien A?os and if they are serving it you must try the Chiles en Nogada. Some of the best I have had.
The deep fried worms are scrumptious too!

Thanks for all the help with the reataurant information. We finished up quite early in TJ so we decided it was best for breakfast. We took Jeans
suggestion from a previous thread by Elgatoloco to go to La Espada?a. It was a very nice restaurant(beautiful setting) with good food and service as
mentioned in Elgatoloco's post. We all were impressed with our breakfast and the fresh naranja & nopal licuado was awesome.
I did see two of the other restaurant's Jesse mentioned very close by La Espada?a. This must be the area to go for some good restaurants. I also know
now that there is the hacienda cien a?os and cien a?os. I didn't know which was the one I wanted to go to. I only heard about cien a?os. Maybe
somebody could help out here that knows the differences between them? It makes me want to go back and try the others Jesse and Doug suggested. Anyway
it was a big hit with my family and I got lots of brownie points. I couldn't of done it without you all. Thanks again Paul

I'm glad it worked out well for you. I'm looking forward to going back. The menu had so many mouth-watering choices, I had a hard time deciding what
to have.
A few days ago when I wanted to make a soup, I was inspired by the spicy dish I had that afternoon and started throwing in cayanne pepper, salsa and
tortillas. It was good, but not even in the same league.
Must do more research....
