Mexico and South by MC

Any board members "toured" Mexico and/or points south(maybe way south)... on your motorcycle??? I have been doing a little research on touring/touring companies but the $8-12k price leaves me at home... I hang out a lot in Los Barriles but would like to explore Mexico and Central America ... nothing too technical but a casual ride staying in hotels/motels... maybe 10-20 days.. or maybe a multiple stage trip that would be completed over the next year or two.. those darn magazine articles make it sound too good to pass up.......

Oldjack, I gone down by truck and used the toll road which was great all the way to Maztland and no problems. You can get off in any of the cities easily and in the larger ones you have to drive through anyway. If you plan a trip get a map for about $5 dollars from ontheroad.com great play by play where to eat, stay, get fuel, sites along the way and very good directions in where to turn and enough time in advance to avoid a miss and shows you all way down with kilometer markers which are along side the roads all the way down. I have linked up in talks with Ken, as he does Baja by motorcycle and has some good advise when going south by motorcycle. He is planning a trip down to La Paz in October of this year and I hope to link up with his group, no charge to enjoy the group ride. Do a U2U to Ken and see what he knows about people going down he may have a suggestion or two. Later, bajafun777
