Larry (Lencho) and others,

I think you know I have never before posted any part of a U2U (with or without the sender's name)... and I agree the purpose of U2U is for personal conversation that doesn't need to be viewed by all.

In fact, I did not get 'personal' messages... but rediculous threats about a road report (over a road that appears on all maps we have). I asked at the very begining of my Part 2 post for everyone to wait for me to finish before jumping to conclusions. It was not a personal message, but the senders seemed to want to push their beliefs without the rest of this Nomad community to know.

Well, about 3 people had a fit and messed up the original thread so much that for the other 4,000 Nomads to enjoy it, I changed it to the 'surfer's are special why' thread... and reposted the trip report. The moderators and owners of Baja Nomad know the value of trip reports and that Baja isn't a private playground for the few, so they were working overtime to keep editing the harassing posts. They shouldn't have to do that as we all should be mature enough and decide if we want to read or go somewhere in Baja or not!

I posted a couple of U2U threats because I didn't want to get any more, I didn't want to paraphrase what I got either, but wanted you to see what motivated my reactions... Without including the sender's names, they are as private as anything else. I don't want anyone to be unhappy, but the selfish attitude that Nomads can't share trip details with each other is very un-amigo like and un-Mexican like as well.

As it turned out, the Part 2 of my trip report was just a log of a dirt road I traveled in Baja, with no mention of surf spots or disclosing any secret roads... and I didn't post any GPS waypoints if that even makes a difference?!

I want to make no enemies here... In fact, most of you know I am always willing to help with your Baja trips or history questions, hand out beers and stickers when we meet, etc.. Sorry if I sometimes do something you don't like... But as President Lincoln once said, "You can't please all the people all of the time"... So, get over it and contribute something people here would like to read about Baja California, okay?!! PEACE!!

Gull, have you been listening to Hendrix lately. I'm catching some of his lyrics in your messages.

If so, I'll send you a U2U complimenting you on choice of music. I wouldn't want others to know that I've sent you a compliment.

Nothing sent over the Internet should be considered private. Don't you know that the NSA is reading all emails with super computers/software?

Oops, that's another thread best placed in the off-topic area. Sorry.

Because one sends an unsolicited PM to a person doesn't make that person a confidant. That status must me mutually agreed upon as in, "Off the record" for reporters. How could anybody expect cordial and gracious hospitality when they drop in, unannounced, to berate and belittle? When did this behavior become so sacrosanct to be demanding of privacy and respect?
People here should, if thought necessary, write their disagreeable opinions in public and save their PM love letters for friends.

Just mimicing your psycho brethren from NorCal, I blocked you from my U2U.

I refuse to accept your compliments and your messages would only be reworded as foul threats and posted by me on this board, where they don't belong, as someone already did with my friendly U2U's. So to avoid the misrepresention of your compliments via U2U, you will have to limit your compliments to postings in full view of others and barefoot servants, too.

Be secure, NSA wouldn't find you interesting. Let's just say, I would know.

Dennis I agree completely. As a result, other than reporting the post as offensive, I'll take no action as a result of The Gull calling me a PSYCHO in public. His comment clearly says a lot more about him than it does about me. By spreading his bile into my u2u mailbox or spilling it here he tells us a lot about himself. We can all make our own judgements about his integrity as a man. Mr. Gull, I invite you to leave those kinds of insults on the off-topic where they belong.

Not even there, really-- the total lack of self control over in off-topic has ruined it for everybody but the frenzy feeders.

Guess you haven't been off topic in awhile. Things have calmed down. That's, possibly, why Gull is over here?

Without naming names, who are you accusing of being Nomad ''frenzy feeders?"
