Ramon and Ivan Arce in the U.S.

I had dinner with Ramon and Ivan last night in Escondido. They are here for the second part of Ivans opperation to repair his achilles tendons. The operation was performed last month at Shriners Hospital in Los Angles. This trip is to remove the casts and make tempory braces for his lower legs, which have atrophied from a month in the casts. Ivan was walking with a walker and seems to have great improvement. He will return to his aunts home in Loreto to go to school next week. The good people of Amigos de los Californios went to great effort to make this happen. These folks operate a mobile dental clinic once a year in the Sierra San Francisco, At both Santa Marta and San Francisco de la Sierra. They became aware of Ivans problem and arranged, through great difficulty, to have him brought to the United States for the operation. The clinic is a volunteer non profit organization, and would welcome your tax deductable donations. Amigos de Los Californios 1831 Lendee Dr. Escondido Ca. 92025 or call Bill and Sue Evarts 760.746.5710 It was wonderful to see Ramons easy smile and visit with Ivan again. They are both doing well, and Ramon looks forward to seeing his old friends in the canyons again.
