Baja Beach
with toes in sand on tranquil beach
I set my mind adrift and free
so it could to the heavens reach
and then refreshed come back to me
I watched as tide came in, went out
my thoughts swept clean as swashing strand
with peacefulness within, without
I felt as one with sea and land
till zapped with sharp harpoons of noise
from guys astride their fat-wheeled toys
who boldly bring to Baja's shores
the spirit of conquistadors
for though a lonely shore has merit
a Baja-lover learns to share it

Lera's poem expresses well the paradox of tranquility and noise pollution that is Baja, and how you have to learn to roll with it if you are going to
be happy here.
"...zapped with harpoons of noise" indeed!
Well done, Lera.

Thanks, you all. Poetry is something I hardly ever try.

I'll never willing share it with fat wheel toys - you have the right to smoke, just don't blow that smoke into my face - lovely thoughts in the rest
of the poem though - respect the beach and others rights - It's against the law to drive on beaches in Baja. just one person's humble opinion....
