Baja bash a Smash

We just returned to Bahia Santa Maria after a wonderful trip to the Wet Buzzard's Baja Bash. Gene and Laura were the perfect hosts. The food was most excellent, the free beer flowed freely and a very good time was had by all. Gypsy's is in excellent shape and many camped there. We were fortunate enough to score a free room @ Cieleto Lindo thanks to the kindness of Gene. We all need to support those who give back to the people that frequent their establishments in Baja. If you havn't tried Gypsy's and the Wet Buzzard please give them a chance. You won't be disappointed. Rob

I heartily agree with Rob. It was a great shindig. There were a LOT of people there. I knew very few, but everybody was friendly. I saw Paulina and her daughter; we camped in the open building with Dennis and Joan. There several of the Baja Bush Pilot group there.

The pig was served as Carnitas, and they spitted two Lambs. The Tecate flowed all afternoon and evening. I saw at least three empty kegs this morning:o

It was a fun thing and Gene & Laura worked very hard to make it so.

Ditto's on the above!!!!

We had a fun time at the Baja Bash as well! Saw some old friends and made a few new ones.

We left CL Sunday AM and headed south for more fun in the sun and just got home today. We had a Laura's special breakfast burrito just this morning prior to heading north. Can't wait to get back to Baja!!!!

Mateo

3-20-04 Great Fun!
Sun shining outside.
Standing room only inside.
Live music downstairs.
Mariachi's strolling.
Cerveza flowing.
Carnitas frying.
Lamb over mezquite.
50 pesos all you can drink and eat.
What a treat!

Looks like Dave and Juanita turned over the Wet Buzzard operation faster than they unloaded Cielito Lindo... Anyone know if they have a third project in the works?

I am very happy it is 'Laura's'... the Breakfast Burrito queen of Baja!
