Amigos de Baja

I heard a rumor that this site was starting back up? - anyone know anything about this - also I sent Earle an email regarding some of the old merchandise from Amigos a while back and never heard back from him. Any info would be appreciated.

That would be quite a surprise after hearing from Earle... Unfortunately, another Baja forum has started calling themselves 'The Amigos Board' (using the same type style) to try and capture some of the gang (who mostly are here), I guess... It is a good looking multi-subject forum, but vertually unused. I have it listed in my list of Baja boards (Baja Quest Forums)... but it will never be 'The Amigos Board' we all knew.

From my knowledge, and understanding of the situation.... it ain't happenin'.

Check your U2U.

As noted, there's another site online that's been labeling itself "The Amigos Board" for some time now. That site uses software from the same company that Earle/Eric/Trish last used for their forums, and before it called itself TAB, each of the forums were labeled identical to those at bajanet.com -- word-for-word.

So, it looks similar, and is calling itself the same thing.

Probably what your referring to, as I've spoken with Earle a few times, and there seems to be no interest whatsoever.

He may not have them anymore as of this writing, but he was looking for a taker for all the old hard-copies of his fishing reports through the years. I made a couple of inquiries on that for him, but didn't seem to have any takers.

Earle's email is also at socal.rr.com these days, not bajanet.com or pacbell.net... and possibly why you didn't get a response email?

Regards,

The "Amigos" that we once knew was a very special place that can't be brought back...even if the name is the same...I'm also waiting for Johnny Carson to come back and do his show again...some things can't be replaced....

Surfer Jim, I have a video tape of Carson's last Tonight Show. I'm going to bring it with me down to Mulege (April 10th for two weeks) and watch it again. I haven't watched it since I recorded it. I don't even remember the year.

True.

There's someone trying to make a run at it though:

Funny thing today: thinning out my closet I tossed my last 2 Amigos T shirts - they were shot. Didn't even get a lump....:(

This is my favorite photo of two of the three Amigos de Baja leaders, taken in October, 2000 at my first Viva Baja party.

I guess I raised a few memories of the good times on Amigos de Baja. David K, thanks for the photos as I never got a chance to meet any of those great people!
Debra, I'm jealous because you were able to get more T-Shirts! I still have my original two and will have to take better care of them so I won't have to throw them out as Santiago did.

Adios and to more good times in Baja!!

Thanks Doug for the additional pictures! Many good times talking about Baja especially while waiting for that once a year trip! Now retired and will try for more trips down to paradise!

Chatroom

From what I can tell, the chat room is still functional: http://bajanet.homestead.com/

David, I'm surprised you haven't been getting people around the "chat"fire nightly.
