Tourist cards vs. Passports

Flying from LAX to La Paz on Aero California, do you need a passport or will an existing tourist card be fine. What else is needed to make this trip. Thanks for the info. Brian

Your drivers license or certified copy of your birth certificate is all you need. But, if you do have a passport, might as well bring it. If you have an existing tourist permit, they will take it from you before you fly back home as you must surrender that when you leave the country. However, driving across they are not as strict about turning it in. You're supposed to mail it in. I don't think many people do.

Tourist cards are prepaid for the flight

Put your existing tourist card in a safe place. Get a new one on the plane, surrender it when you depart. Then dig out the old one for ground trips in the future.
