Errands in TJ, yesterday evening, 15 Jan 08
He had an appointment with the surgeon for a check up on an outpatient procedure and I needed to pick up my glasses.
All was calm in the Rio district. Hubby asked the doctor about the recent violence; the doctor just shrugged and said that it had nothing to do with
them, the people of Tijuana who go to work everyday at their regular jobs to support their families and improve their lives.

He just didn't want to talk with you about it. It's too hard to believe that anybody in Tijuana can feel that detached from reality.

I don't know Dennis, I was in Rosarito the morning they took the guns away from the police. I read about in on this forum, went down and mentioned it
to the security guard. He shrugged as well. I walked up to Juarez Blvd past the police station to the bakery. There were police coming and going in a
normal fashion. The morning seemed no different then any other....

They play their cards close to the chest. I once asked a neighbor who her next-door neighbor of twenty years was and she shrugged her shoulders
saying, I don't know.
Unlike us, Mexicans don't spill their guts to strangers.
