** Annual April 27th rant **
There are two behaviors that puzzle and irritate me about the way folks use Baja Nomad. Amazingly enough, it's not the rudeness, etc. that some
members complain about.
1) "SO AND SO PLEASE READ MY U2U" posted in the public forum. Uhh, people-- there is a notice up in the right hand corner of every page when one has
a U2U waiting. Plus, you can have the system email you immediately when you get a new U2U. Is it really necessary to clutter up the public forum
with this sort of inept silliness?
2) The apostrophe. For tho'se who don't know when to u'se it, you'd be a lot better off ju'st omitting it completely from your writing. Chance's are
you'd make fewer error's.
That's my rant for this year.
Thanks for listening-- Larry |
Sorry: On the U2U, I truly did not know this irritated people. I have done this since I became a Nomad because I saw others do it and thought it
was the norm. I will not be doing that again.
Seriously, how about a list of protocol and don't mess with us!
Thank you. |
I think it only irritates Lencho... I have seen the "check your U2U" posts on occaision and wondered how any Nomad could miss seeing the notice in the
top corner that you have a U2U. Then jeans made the observation that some Nomads come here logged off... and thus wouldn't see the U2U notice. Not
sure why anyone would log off, unless they were on a borrowed computer... But, that's a rant for another day!

I did a search and came up blank, so for historical perspective on this annual event could you refresh our memories about preceding rants?
|
This was the first in what could become a long series. If I remember.

Why do you want to log out??

Sometimes I am logged off automatically...not sure how it happens...same with Off Topic. Also, how can I be logged on to a work computer while
simultaneously logged off at the home computer. It's all very murky to the uninitiated.

Only if you are on a public computer. I used a computer in Mulege and when I went to Baja Nomads, bingo, Diver was logged in.
Still wish I had created more fun with that one. Didn´t know him then, but now that I do, boy would I have some fun and it would all show under his
name.

Have you ever seen a thread that stayed on topic ?
Many people have a very short attention span. |
Hose A, sounds like the beginning of a rant of your own?
Let loose, compa!
