Brief Bio. of Newbie

Greetings Nomads,
I have been "lurking" on this board for several years now and have decided it was time to register and become involved. I am retired Officer from the Oakland, CA. Police Dept., also retired Army CH47 Helicopter Pilot. As some may imagine from my employment history, I am politically conservative. That is not intended to imply that all with similar backgrounds are conservative. We now live on Camano Island in WA. State (fleeing CA state income taxes). My wife and I have a home in Cabo where we stay from Oct. through Mar. each year. I have enjoyed the "give and take" and sometimes heated debates on this board and look forward to being a participating member.

Welcome Hooker...........
You can jump in where our friend Hook left off. He moved to the mainland.
Anyway, you sound like an in-charge person and that's what we need here. Somebody to take charge......of things that need to be taken in charge of. Like Gull.
Enjoy the fiesta, Hooker. Around here, you get as much as you give. Bienvenidos.

Welcome fellow double dipper, Baja lover and politically conservative guy.

Jorge is retired US Military and Law Enforcement, and of course politically conservative.

This might be better than "where in Baja is this???...."

Come on in. The water's fine. A few sharks out there, however. Better stay in the shallow water for a while.

Welcome Hooker33!

I am definitely NOT conservative but I enjoy civil debates. Newbies are always welcome. We are all products of our life's experiences and they shape the way we think and conduct our lives. Of course, good people can be conservative or liberal. Hopefully we can all contribute and/or learn valuable information pertaining to Baja.

Where is Camano Island? Is it one of the San Juans? I travel to Pt. Townsend, WA for the jazz festival every year, the last week of July. It is beautiful country up there.

Welcome aboard.

I don't know what "politically conservative" means in terms of Mexican politics, but discussion of U S politics on this board is strictly forbidden. (Well... at least for progressives) Don't miss the off-topic forum. Some of the finest examples of conservative thought can be found there. Have fun.

To Bajajudy; We have the buffet at the Tropicana every Sunday in San Jose, it's great!

To Bajagrouper; Coincidentally I was the Vice Div. Commander for my last 4 years with the P.D. Has nothing to do with Hooker33, however.

To Skipjack Joe; Plan on staying in shallow water for now while I sort out how to work everything. Tristemente, I am computer challenged.

To toneart; Thank you for the welcome. Camano Is. is in Island County east of Whidby Is. We are not in the San Juans. Also, a jazz lover having been to the Monterey Jazz festival several times and in my youth a regular at the Blackhawk in SF

Welcome, and thank you for your service to our country.
You will find a wealth of information, fun, silly topics and everything inbetween here on BN.
As a conservative minded guy, I very much appreciate the civil discourse we can have with folks of differing leanings, as we are all bound by the common love of Baja.
Look forward to your participation.
