INEGI Office in Mexicali

Today I stopped by the local INEGI (Mexico's version of the USGS) office here in Mexicali to get some topographic maps.

The experience was quick and simple. I obtained several 1:50,000 scale topo maps for the price of 55 pesos each.

I know many people have been unable to get the Baja Almanac; so, these maps are a good alternative.

According to my Moon guide to Baja, INEGI has offices in TJ and La Paz as well. The office in Mexicali was not on the third floor of the Palacio National as quoted in my guidbook; but, next door in a little office across the street from the Plaza del Torros/Sanborns.

It's been there for several years Mango. I've bought topos there and they also have digitized ones that you can view on your computer - .jpg or .tif.
The street is Independencia.

A few years ago, we bought a cd with all the topos for Baja from the office in La Paz. It was about $100.
We load the ones we need on our laptop and off we go.
