The pictures will not come up on my screen. It says they have been moved or deleted. What am I doing wrong?

We usually leave the plane at Punta Pescadero when we fly down."

sweet. have you attended the 180-185 club group fly ins Marlin holds at mulege in spring most years? they are a gas. i have met many T draggers at those. let me know when you plan the next hop south we want to visit friends at El Rincon who base a 185 there. Right now it is up in BC on floats!

i fly right over Farmington enroute to landing at La Plata Co. from where we go to a small cabin 1/2 way to pagosa springs.

I've been to a couple of the 180/185 club fly ins in Baja and a few with the Baja Bush Pilots. Always lots of fun.
The Durango to Pagosa area is some real nice country, a nice ride on a Harley.....dt

Well, I think I screwed up. I'm new to picture posting and I deleted these from the Photobucket site before I uploaded the Malarimo trip report pictures. I didn't realize that they would be deleted here as well. Strangely enough, they still come up on my computer when I open the forum but I tried to open it on a different computer and the pics had been deleted.

Does anybody have any advise?

thanks....dt

I also learned the hard way that if you delete the photo from photobucket, it is gone, gone, gone.

You could go back and upload the photos back on photobucket and then edit your first post. Remove all of the old img links and add the new ones.

Good Luck
Diane

Thanks Diane,
I saved them to an album in Photobucket so I'm not really sure why they were deleted from the forum. I opened it and re-sent them to the forum.

Did you see the Malarimo trip report?.....dt

Did you move the photos to an album AFTER you started this thread and posted the img links here? If so, I THINK that changes the link---but since you have them in the album, it should be easier to repost them.

Saw you report just a few minutes ago---thanks, it is good. We want to wait until our son can come down---want two vehicles!

Thanks
Diane

On edit --- I see you started a new thread with the pictures. You can go back to the beginning of this thread, hit the edit button, delete the links, and add the replacement ones.

Then you moved them around on photobucket, without changing the URLs in your post to the new location.

They never were here; that is called an "attachment", which uploads to Doug's server where this site is hosted(50kb limit each) and most importantly uses Doug's bandwidth that he pays for to fetch them.

The reason you still see them on the one computer is because they are stored in your browser "cache." If you tell Internet Explorer/Firefox to clear that cache, they'll disappear.

Mark

Thanks for the info Mark,

Should I have posted them to the Forum in a different way from the Photobucket site?

Well, It's taken me a while to figure out as much as I have which isn't much, I'm a bit "computer challenged". The reason I went with Photobucket was that I saw it mentioned on this site and frankly, it took quite some time just to get as far as I am.

What would be an easier option for someone with VERY limited computer skills?

Thanks....dt

Neither one of those 2 require registration/albums/javascript, but I think they have it. I just load an image and copy the "direct link" url that comes back. Sometimes I use the multiploader in imageshack; it needs javascript.

This one
http://tinypic.com/

needs javascript enabled in your browser or it won't load.

I've noticed you leaving an extra set of image tags around your photos; only one is needed to make it work here, lower or upper case letters.

I don't know anything about the image tags. On the Photobucket site I copied the address and pasted it on the "insert an image" tab and that is how it comes up on the Forum.

I really am just "winging it" and appreciate your help.

When I re-posted the Introduction pictures then returned to the home page on Photobucket I'm guessing they were deleted again even though they show up on my computer.

I'll keep trying, thanks....dt

May I add a post-script?

We in the NOMAD forum LOVE seeing photos posted of whatever involves BAJA.
Would it be possible for our moderator gods to simplify the photo posting process?
Many of us have gone through the three-ring-circus that it takes to post. If it were easier to post the photos, I am positive we would see more of them. [Perhaps our moderator gods will now say that many more photos will overwhelm our puny server).

I plan on taking loads of pictures and would love to post here. If all else fails we'll get Shari to post em.

done it a lot, was a regular every year at the 4 corners ralley up until 2004 when a left turning cage totaled my custom softail modded to a dresser in centro PHX and left me in the hospital 4 nights and surgeries later.

so last great ride for us is baja. it's on the list DT, why not join us? my flying bud from vegas area has several bikes and is going to put me on one of his roadies. we want to ride south and ferry over to mainland and do copper canyon. likely a fall trip but which year........dunno.

Sounds like fun.
We race off-road motorcycles and I've always wanted to do some Baja touring. I don't have anything between the Harley and my KTM pre-runner but I could probably modify the KTM pretty easily.

We raced the Baja 1000 in 2007. Being the senior (read sponsor) member of the team I was selected (I insisted) to ride the last leg into Cabo for the finish. We finished 8th in our class (out of 55 in the open sportsman class) and actually made the podium. We felt pretty good considering it was our first Baja race. My son rode solo this year in the 500. Bike problems slowed him down but he was able to finish the race. We will be competing in the Vegas to Reno race in August.

Let me know if you decide to make the Mexico ride happen, I'd like to tag along...dt
