Selling Time Shares in Loreto

As I walked from the Bank in Loreto toward the South and across the Street from the Cafe Ole there stood sevearal "Young' boys and Girls, one of whom approached me in a "Used Car Salesman Approach" gently directing me into an Empty building where I observed a Map of the new "Destruction" of Ensenada Blanca!!!

If I remember the correct wording I could have a Time Share in this new, preposed Development for the small Sum of 38,000 Dollars with only $9,000 Down Now! Also when it would be finished there would be a "Desalting Plant for Water".

In addition there would be a Pier where Panga Fisherman would take the residents out fish.

I observed for quite sometime and did not see any other Prospects. There has been a good decrease in Customers coming to Loreto for anything!

I haven't been back to Loreto since April 2007. Have the finally finished the street projects and gotten them repaved?

Also, do you know if the new development at Puerto Escondido is still ongoing?

How much time do 38.000 $ buy you?
Is it a week or, if the recession keeps on going, will it be a year??:lol:

Maybe we are lucky and Norbert is taking over the "development".

rover65: No to streets; the short street beween the 4 Corners and Pescador is still torn up. There is a New Mall type Building to the East, finished but no occupants. as well there is another building off of the "Closed street to the North. Lots of people, new cars, no Customers, no Fisherman, except locals.
If you watch the Construction at Loreto Bay, you can tell it is not very Serious. Looks to me as if they are "Killing Time".

It was very quiet in town when I was there two weeks ago. I arrived the day before the La Palapa restaurant burned down. Sailfish were everywhere, Dorado were around. But not much there in the way of tourists. Fished w/ the Torres bros. They said they hadn't fished since mid July. Went by Ensenada Blanca on the way back from Santa Cruz island. Heard something is being built but couldn't really see much from the water heading to Puerto Escondido. At least nothing ominous, yet.

I think 38,000 pesos for a Time Share is too expensive. :O

The Proposed Development at Ensenada Blanca is Larger than the Loreto Bay Thing.

The smaller Dorado were so thick they were Jumping in the Boat. Then they would leave for a Day, some back and School up again. All in the 20 Lb Range. Except if you got a 100 yards away from the School you could pick up a nice Bull or Two.

Probably I am quite morbid....but I would like to see the destruction they are doing to this prestine bay.
Is there any chance of a Loretanian Nomad to post some photos?
Although I will kick myself later for having asked...:(

Don't know if you are looking for pictures of the current state of the construction or what is planned. Here is the link to the Villa Group website with pictures of what is planned.

Given the current economy, those time shares should move about as fast as lead pangas.

I think it will be several years before property sells well here in Loreto. We shall see.

Skeet - are the LB workers still living in a tent city? How did they fare during the hurricane?
