treasure found yesterday...
a 100 peso coin was found on the beach yesterday…

and worth about 1 penny (usa)
at the time of devaluation in 1992

the rest are probably on the bottom of the ocean too
it always amazes me how stuff is returned from the sea

Still a real find! I bought a shinny one similar to yours at the prison. I think they had rubbed it with mercury and it really looked like silver.

The prisoners are allowed to sell crafts they make. You can talk to the officials there and they'll either take you back to the fence or set up a time
to return to buy stuff. Definitely a good place to practice you bargaining skills.

Russ, I was at the Cereso (prison) last year and had bought a few pieces while Marika was trying to buy a pair of earrings when one of the guys was
trying to sell me a key chain with a marijuana plant emblem on the chain. I said, great, you want me to be in there with you and he laughed along
with the guards. Since he knew he could not sell me the keyring, he just gave up and asked for a couple of bucks for shoes since his were a little
run down. That day I happened to be wearing my fishing shoes which had tied together shoe laces with several holes in the sides. So I showed him my
shoes and said I really needed a couple of bucks to buy some new shoes so he offered me a dollar. I laughed but felt bad so I bought the stupid key
chain which I promptly threw away after leaving.

I've snorkled in may countries and I really am very lucky when it comes to finding money, I've even found notes on several occasions which once dried
out have been eagerly spent.
However, I have yet to find anything in Baja!
