I love Julieta! Have her DVD as well as the Diego Torres DVD where she does a duet with him.

Great talent and personality...

Agree! ! I missed her concert in LA in October (HOW???) somehow and am still hurting from that. This "concert" at USC has received minimal advertising and will feature an interview and some music so it should be a lot of fun.

There was a thread on Nomad about Latin music. I can't seem to find it. Can anyone find it for me? That is the thread where I found out about Lila Downs. Of course if was just after her concert in LA so that made me 0-2 for 2008..but I did add another great artist to my CD collection. And Mari from Chambao after I heard her singing on a Lila Downs song. At any rate, I hope someone who did not know about the concert can now go....hopefully someone can find that thread for me. .

Actually she was born in Long Beach but grew up in Tijuana.

She is very much "in-touch" with the people and does her own grocery shopping, goes to the car wash, etc. She has a very large and loyal following and her personality has a lot to do with it.
