Shopping for meat in La Paz

Are there any good meat sources in La Paz, Beef and Lamb. I don't think that there's a Cosco there there yet. Can I buy good meat there?

Phil C. Phil S here. We have had good luck with Sergio's tienda up near the hospital in the little colonial. We've bought meat from him for over eight years, and was never disappointed. Now keep in mind. We are not really picky with our meat needs. Friends would drive to Constitution to buy their meat at LaLeys or however it is spelled.

In town, the best beef is in City Club. CCC has a very good T-bone. Good lamb is hard to find here, but you can order it from cabo and the quality is very good. Let me know what your needs are and i can arrange to have them delivered from cabo if you want.

I've been to one neighborhood carniceria ( sp?) and was recomemnded to another while driving by. I'll try to locate street addresses from old tourist maps....

PS- we went to one for t-bones, 1" thick and after doing the exchange, we figured we bought 6 (+1") T-bone steaks for $45 USD. I can't remember the actual kilo weight, but comp-priced the t-bone steaks to around $75 at our local US rural store.

I gotta tell ya, our local store ROCKS for good prices and sales on meat. We watch for the sales and we can get prime pib roasts for $1.99/lb and prime cut steaks for 3.99-4.99/lb.

Will get back with the La Paz street addresses-
