Maggie in her doggie jail. For the first two weeks she can only come out to potty. The thing around her neck is a bandage holding on a pain med patch.

OK, she also gets to come out to sit on our laps or rest on our bed while one of us is reading.

It is a good thing she was crate trained, but she just does not like spending SO much time there.

And for any of you facing large Vet bills, Wells Fargo has one of those special 1 year interest free cards for Vet Bills over $1,000.00. It is one of those deals, however, that one must follow very closely, never miss a payment, and get it paid back on time or you pay interest back to the beginning at almost 24%.

We use these interest free offers a lot, but we are OVERLY careful with them.

Diane,

I am happy your little Miss Crabby Pants is on her way to mending.

Please forgive this slight hijack:

Paco is not a barker unless there is something important to bark about.

Well, it just happened. I was here on my computer and he was barking as though he was saying, "Hey! this is really serious." It is just about dark here in the High Sierras. I went outside to see what the commotion was all about. All the other neighborhood dogs were now barking. I walked up the driveway to the road. The it was: a full grown cinnamon colored bear, just casually ambling down the road about 25 feet from me.

He kept on walking. A truck came by and he moved off the road and into the trees and shrubs. I have seen this bear before but not in the last couple of years. Even though it is cinnamon colored, it is a California Black Bear. I remember it as a cub and it had two black siblings. A bear by itself is usually docile. They aren't interested in people and they hate a dog's bark. All they want is garbage that people leave out in their trash cans. They don't hibernate in the winter anymore because they don't have to. Food/garbage is readily available.

They are dangerous when it is a mother and cubs. You don't want to be in their proximity, and you don't want your dog challenging her either.

Anyway, Paco was doing his job, protecting me and the house.
Good Boy!:o
