well, as usual, it's like 71 degrees in Punta Banda...it's ALWAYS 71...except when it's not. The morning clouds/fog make it hard to dry the clothes on the line but eventually the sun comes out...the wind blows, and all is well.

I am in Phoenix now with reported temp of 111; my thermometer in the shade shows 121.
Thank God it's a dry heat, so it's really like 62 degrees out.

I was on my way to Punta Baja with my new kayak on top of my Corolla Wednesday. Tranny blew up.

S/he said it wouldn't take my crap any more. Have fun nomads!

You got that right Dennis! I always tell my Mexican friends that Phoenix is just like Mexico, only hotter and less gringos.

I'll be swapping transmissions tonight in the delightfully cool 105s or so...
Maybe I should put it off until like 4AM.

Climates for every taste. Last week it was 94 at 10am in Mulege. By the time we hit Vizcaino, which is still pretty far inland, it was 76.

I haven't checked but I think the weather in SQ is about to get perfect.
About 80 on the beach and the gloom should burn off quicker. The marine layer will probably be persistant most of the day out on the water. Maybe a little cool offshore.
It's very warm here in Costa Mesa. I was sitting on Newport Beach yesterday as late as 6pm before I put on a shirt. Perfect weather.
Inland it's a bit hot. About 100.
I predict perfect Northern Baja weather on the Pacific side starting next weekend.
I'm going back to SQ to chase fish with my son next weekend.
But if the fish still aren't in SQ I might go to BOLA.
The fishing looks good but the weather looks very hot! Ouch!

Mood: Let's have a BBQ!

[*] posted on 7-12-2009 at 03:11 PM

This last week out west of San Quintin along the Pacific Coast it has been consistently upper 70's in the daytime and dropping down to mid to upper 60's at night with a light breeze from the NW. It made it difficult to stay focused on the house at times it was so nice; especially when watching all the pangas out in front of the island fishing...

Thanks for the report.
Ya, that's about what I figured.
The weather was nice last weekend but a bit windy and cool. I knew I was off by about a week.
Saw some pictures of the boats today. Some blue sky and calm water shots. They guys still hard jackets on. They got yellows. Kelly got a Dorado yesterday 25 miles out on a kelp patty.
Next weekend should be perfect!
You going to be in town BG?
