Grand Opening- Ruben's Palms Grill in Cantamar

The bawdy, all-kinds-of-things-go-on, historic Palms Grill in Cantamar is reopening this coming Saturday, August 15, at 5 PM.

Ruben is planning a great party; appetizer specials and one drink for free.

Really great music groups will be performing outside on the beautiful patio.

Gossip Says

And, I wish to underline this point - this is only secondhand or even further removed information - the word is that the restaurant was closed by the authorities (we did see the official government banner in the window) and that the previous business operator jailed for nonpayment of salaries and social security withholding for the employees.

That being whatever, the new operater. Ruben, is energetic and excited about this new venture and he is going to go all out to provide good food, drinks and entertainment in this historic and beautiful restaurant.

I wish the new owner well in his restaurant. It is a very attractive site for sure.

In one of it's previous forms I experienced a first in Mexico or the US for that matter.

They were charging lobster by the ounce, and it was $1.50 US. A 1 1/2 # lobster would have set your back $36.

We will stop in and check it out.
