We've lost a fellow Nomad

Our fellow Nomad, Dave Moore, who had a house in Camp Gecko for 14 years, passed away August 18th in northern California.

His services will be held in Virginia. His wife, Joyce Moore, will arrive in Virginia Thursday morning, August 27th. The services will be held sometime after that.

If anyone would like to send condolences, it can be done two different ways. I spoke to Joyce this morning, and I know that she is going to check this email address in the next couple days. It would be wonderful for her to find condolence emails to help comfort her, so I am asking for all nomads to send a comforting note--even if you did not know Dave.

He loved Bay of LA deeply, spending 6 months a year in Camp Gecko. He likely knew every place to collect garnets and other minerals better than anyone. He was a true Nomad of Baja and an avid rockhound.

Email: polvoroso@netzero.net

Snailmail & Physical address:
Joyce Moore
990 Broad Street Road
Manakin Sabot, Virginia 23103

We'll miss his adventurous spirit. May God bless and keep his soul, and comfort his friends and family.

I'm uncertain. That email address posted does not match any user. The dmoore username was registered from what appears to be a Prodigy DSL account in BCS. The pdmooreus username appears to have been registered by the same person from the same place. The email address for both of those has "pdmooreus" in them. I know nothing more.

Very sorry to hear of his passing. We'll keep our thoughts positive for Joyce at this time.

I guess that I just assumed he was a Nomad because of his love of Baja. Perhaps he was not on this board, sorry about that. Anyway, a lot of Camp Gecko people knew Dave, and I suppose in most of their eyes he was a fellow Nomad anyway.

And I'm sure that Joyce would still find comfort in any condolence emails that were sent to her attention.
