need a new doctor in Santa Rosalia or Mulege
i live in San Bruno with my husband and one year old son. We were using Dr. Silva (of Mulege) as our doctor, however, since the hurricaine, he seems
to be unable to see patients (quite sad really as I find him a kind and compassionate doctor). In the past we went to Dr. Mayoral ( of Santa Rosalia)
but found he was just not the doctor for us. We are looking for a doctor in either area who can speak some english and put up with our rudimentary
spanish. Does anyone know of such a doctor? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I went in to see Dr. Silva yesterday and there is a family living in his office. They told me that his home behind the office somewhere took a direct
hit from a mud slide. I think he spent several days mucking it out and is now taking a break on the mainland. I hope he comes back.
nlb333, Go to the clinic in Mulege. I talked to a Doctor there who spoke better English than Dr. Silva and he told me that for any reason if Dr. Silva
couldn't help me to come see him. He introduced himself as John. Good luck!

I think, in general, the doctors throughout Mexico are very good, and that pertains to the Mulege Clinic as well. The problem is, unless you are in La
Paz or another major city, the facilities and equipment are inadequate, if there is a serious emergency or an acute need for technical diagnosis.
The clinic is just opposite the church in the center of Mulege. Anyone can direct you there once you are in town. The clinic did take quite a hit from
the Hurricane Jimena, but I assume it is cleaned up and operating in a minimal capacity. That will obviously get better as the town continues to
recover.
There were rumors in another string that Dr. Silva is not coming back. That is nothing I can substantiate.

There are several good doctors in Santa Rosalia and you might want to check with Ed and Beth when they get in Monday night. The other option which we
have used is the military hospital who has some great doctors and is located up on the hill in Nuevo Santa Rosalia. They may not have a pediatrician
there however. There is a great family clinic on the north end of Santa Rosalia on the road that goes to the other bakery and is on the right hand
side of the road about two blocks from the main highway and they have a great pediatrician. Also, I understand, there is a pediatrician who has an
office up by the preschool which is next to Hector and Marie's place , which is the water plant on Emilio Carranza and 9th in Santa Rosalia.
