TS Patricia - Los Barriles

Any Los Barriles specific observations about the impact of Patricia... maybe a report now and over the next few days...

While I am concerned about the welfare of other nomads in other towns/locales I am really interested in Los Barriles... as I read reports about the west coast, La Paz and points north I am wondering on what is going on in my locale... I am flying in to SJD Friday(23rd) and I am always anxious about what I will find....

If calculations are correct.. is would seem that the full impact of the TS will be late Tuesday or early Wednesday... thanks for your reports...

oldjack,

Today woke up to clear skies but big front to East blocking sunrise. Deck is dry so not much rain overnight. Mexico has ordered Storm Warning for us. I will keep you up to date.

Woke up to some nasty dark clouds around 6 AM, now it's just over cast with a light rain. It looks like we are going to be in for some more rain. at the speed she's moving we may have rain all week. So far it's been a gentle rain, so all is good. The roads going into Los Barriles are fine, we're heading in this afternoon for lunch, will post if there is any problems.

Here's a picture just taken, it's 9:50 am. I am pointing towards Rancho Leonero, which is to the East of us. The dark clouds have gone, we have a slight breeze out of the East. It's still raining, all the plants or loving it.

5 pm report,

The wind came up about 2:30 for 15 -20 min then died down. A good swell from the East all day & now with higher tide, the water is moving up the beach. Mostly cloudy with dark clouds over the mountains and South. Wind has picked up a little. Was not a bad day here. Let's see what happens to night.

Had a downpour about 6:30 and 8pm tonight, didn't last long, it is doing the plants good. Went to Santiago today, and all the cows on the side of the road looked pretty happy. The roadside is very green. If forecast is right (or somewhat right), we will continue with rain tonight, and TS Patricia will turn west tomorrow. We are doing good with the rain, but other places in Baja have had their fill. Hopefully they will be spared. Buena suerte.

7:20 report

We had several storm showers last night. 7:40, 8:35 & 11:20. Today woke up to clearing skies to the East & with lighting burst to the South out lining the clouds. Clouds are moving fast at first light, mostly clear. Nice Sunrise with coffee on deck. The beach got a good cleaning with water high on beach. Still swell out of the East. A little run off from the rain but nothing to worry about.

Looks like we will have a nice day in Paradise !

Don't put away the umbrella yet AKBEAR. We are still getting rain, now the whites caps are appearing. Talked to a friend in Cabo at 10 am he said it was pouring there. Maybe some more rain, which we need. We have been lucky it's been a gentle rain..
