Guadalupe Canyon, christmas

Anybody:
What's the story at guadalupe Canyon during Christmas week, say, the days leading up to the holiday?

It is probably the same story as it was for Halloween... (ie. Arturo's is closed because older brother Ernesto turned off the water so only Ernesto's side gets it). Arturo doesn't have many years left... and no matter the reason for the shut off, it stinks.

Interesting, David-- I agree with your previous post about exploring Valle Chico's Agua Caliente. The last time I was there, in June 2005, the local ranchers were constructing a small reservoir about a mile or so beneath the source. Anyway, I have always thought it would be a superb location to construct a socking pool beneath the hot spring. The inaccessablitly though manks it tough to get the supplies in there...

It would be nice to have an alternate hot spring to soak in, for sure... and one closer to the beautiful beaches of San Felipe/ Nuevo Mazatlan area... The Cañada el Parral (Azufre Pass) road makes a great short cut across to Valle Chico as well.

There was a rock lined tub built right below the hot spring... but without cold water to mix, it is FAR TOO HOT so close to the spring (140ºF or close)! Bajalou reported some palapas and tub construction over a year ago, but the canyon entrance was gated and locked last time someone tried to check it out.

If anyone can visit Agua Caliente Canyon (San Pedro Martir/Valle Chico) it would be sure great to have a report!

In April, 2004... the hot tub just below the source spring... and the hot stream heading down the canyon:

In December, 2000... same location looking the opposite way... note all the steam around me, coming from the stream... the quantity of hot water flowing from Agua Caliente was amazing!:

That's only a bad thing if the owner locks us out!
