Remember Loved Ones Who Have Crossed Over

The Day of the Dead is the time of year when by Mexican tradition we celebrate and commune with our loved ones who have crossed over.

I find the tradition especially touching this year as my mother passed just two weeks ago and I am currently creating a Day of the Dead altar especially for her. May I remind mi amigos nomados that one need not have an altar to spend a few moments remembering just one good story about those in our lives who wait for us al otro lado.

Constructive grieving would seem to be good therapy. I mourn your loss, Nena.

Tomorrow (Nov. 1) will be a year since my dad died. I comfort myself thinking that since he died on Dia de los Muertos that my mom came through to take him with her...she had died 11 years earlier and he had been diagnoise with cancer only 7 weeks earlier. I hope they are together in their afterlife.

Thanks, Nena, so beautiful. Strange, but I am attending my brother's memorial tomorrow (passed two weeks ago at age 48), and I am so glad it happened to fall on November 1. Made him an altar. It helps.
