Starband Satellite Internet Alert

Intelsat is decommissioning the satellite currently known as G-27 at the 129 degree orbital slot.

This is the satellite that all current SB users below the Mulege/loretto are are most likely on.

All customers on that satellite will need to repoint to the new G-23 bird @ the 123 degree orbital slot.

We will be traveling down the peninsula sometime around the end of Jan or 1st week of February repointing all our SB customers free of charge. We are also willing to repoint SB customers that are not ours free of charge provided they are not to far off the beaten path.

If you are not our customer and are way off the beaten path we can send you a comprehensive guide to do the repoint yourself and help walk you through it or ask for a nominal fee to do it for you.

There is a hard cutoff date of March 1st to complete the repoint or you will loose service until you can complete the repoint.

The new line of sight will be ever so slightly to the east and higher in the sky

Anyone that wants a repoint as per the above please PM me with your account information and location and we will do our best to accommodate you.

We will be in Baja for about 3-4 weeks doing this so if we miss you on the way down for some reason we will catch you on the way back up.

Happy New Year to all.

correction. the new sat is designated by Intelsat as G-18 at the 123 degree orbital slot...NOT G-23. sorry for the error.
