A Day at the Beach

We went down to see the big waves and high tides this morning. We started at La Jolla Cove and ended up at Ocean Beach.

Relaxing at La Jolla Cove

Wall at Brockton Villa Restaurant, when these Abalones were set in this wall you could get them across the street at La Jolla Cove in 10' of water.

Mission Bay Channel, I wouldn't try taking out a boat today

The Ocean Beach Pier was closed and has sustained some storm damage.

I loved piers as a young man. Would sometimes ditch school to spend the day at Santa Monica pier. The damp wood had a smell about it.

Very cool images of our area and the big surf. Ocean Beach pier is really the place to see what big waves can do. Great job you have done here to share this weather event.

Super pictures Frank.

Can't decide whether I like the figure in #1 more or the lighting in #3. Both fine images. But I'm leaning towards #3 more. It's like a painting.

We are planning on riding our bicycles from Mission Beach north very soon, and the photos were motivating.
Thanks!
