Policia Federal de Caminos told me just a few hours ago that the road will be open to all traffic tonight. Bridges at San Vicente and Vicente Guerrero
will both have repairs/bypasses operating. They ask that folks wait to tomorrow to try it so they can get the backlog of waiting trucks/cars/busses
back on the road.
They expect the highway to be flowing with normal traffic by tomorrow...

This sounds reasonable!

Fuel delivered...Jan 26, 2010 / 10:23pm
We just received a truck pipe of fuel at the BajaCactus Gas Station in El Rosario... it comes from Ensenada and was one of the first heavy vehicles to
cross over the damaged area in Col. Guerrero. We ordered this delivery as soon as we realized what was happening (last Friday) and therefore this
delivery was one of the first in line waiting.
The truck driver told us that, between Ensenada and El Rosario, the only really rough and still difficult place to cross over is the repaired bridge
in Col. Guerrero. He said that the temporary repairs made "felt kind of soft"... he was worried they will not hold for long... however, remember he
was one of the first to cross and he was carrying over 40 tons of fuel.
He also mentioned that now, any type of vehicle can cross over all the areas where the bridges were down, with some difficulties at Col. Guerrero but
they can cross.
Let us hope things continue to get better from here on.

Cool! Thanks, David. I did see this this morning. I am going to go for it,
crossing the border on Sunday or Monday.
Has anybody been through the construction zone in Ruta Vino/Guadalupe Valley (Tecate to Ensenada route)? Has it dried out sufficiently? I will be
towing my boat. I have been going through Tecate for years and prefer it.

Wish I could help you on the question on Guadalupe Valley, other than the last posts I recall noted there are still several miles of detour. What with
the rain... Maybe someone will try it before you take off. Safe trip. Hope to stop in next month.

I was on it in November. For me the road construction was no big deal. Of course my current concern is the condition of the zone after all the rain.
If it is big mud hole I will not go that way. McQuerry is going north through there today or tomorrow. I asked him on another thread to report as soon
as he can.
If any Nomads are at The Baja Cactus Hotel in El Rosario, I have a reservation for Sunday night. Rm 104 is what they told me. I hope to be there
before dark. Feel free to knock on the door. If I am not in, I will probably be at Mama Espinoza's.
Thank you, Howard and David K. too!

MulegeMichael just reported on the other string that the Tecate-Ensenada road was no more problem than before the rain. That's good news! Thank you
Michael! See ya in Mulege.
