In La Ribera,
First time that I can remember in 20 years!
Huge black clouds, wind, rain, then Hail the
size of centavo pieces! global warming, heh!

Yes, Mike...quite a sight for Baja.

For me the first time was Jan. 1973 on Coyote Bay. I was with then 90 yr old Bonafacio Diaz talking about his German Shepard dog when the sky turned black, it got REALLY cold, and soon we had about an inch of hail all around us.

He was not too surprised..as he said this was now the SECOND time he had seen it here.

You gotta love Baja.

Well the fact that the jetstream is so far south is the reason you are getting the odd weather. It is said to be a cause from the El Nino this year.

yes, that was a freak storm wasn't it. we're up here hoping the concrete we poured on the patio today isn't pockmarked. we had only about 30 sec of slushy hail, the rest was BIG drops. i was hoping to fish down near the lighthouse tomorrow, but i think that's out.

Here in Pescadero we could see a spectacular lightning display coming from the other side of the sierras.
