Centri lane at Mexicali east crossing

Came through the eastern Mexicali crossing yesterday and they are putting in Centri lane (far left lane) and already have concrete K-rails from the bridge to one entry gate. It is not in operation and there were no signs (that we could spot) but the vendors move the cones and if you get in the left lane you are stuck until you make the crossing, single file. Not a pleasant feeling watching the lanes next to you move right along, so stay to the right two lanes when leaving mexico. We were told they expect to have it operating in two weeks if the Mexico side can do their part of the work.

We got sucked into that left lane last Monday, brutal, too late once we saw the K rails. 2 1/2 hours in line. Couldn't get over driving a crew cab pulling a 20' car hauler.

The border agent said that Mexico had to complete their portion of the new Sentri on their side before it's up and running.

Haven't had a bad trip yet....
