Heat Wave this week

The last couple days we have had santa anna conditions here...a very hot dry wind...luckily only a few hours of strong wind in the morning yesterday and today is like a mid summer day...calm and hot...perfect for water skiing:o and swimming although it's more like dipping these days as the water is ummm....bracing!

Gotta enjoy this heat wave after all the rains we've had this year. Our winds have been gusty also, but prefer this weather over the cold, rain and snow!!

Hope you did not suffer any damage. Heard from some friends that the wind was strong enough to cause some people roof damage.

out here on the point the wind didnt seem that strong...blew some beer cans and a bucket over the cliff but only a few big gusts...perhaps it was worse town side.

You will be surprised at the amount of big truck traffic rumbling by your home when you get back. The semi's that wet down the new road being built get the water from Ensenadita now and go back and forth all day long...noisy buggers...ah the sounds of progress!

Wind? What wind? Usually we get it before you, Shari, but it's been calm and hot. Maybe I should go out and tie things down.
Then again, maybe I'll just have a frosty cerveza and worry about it later.
Yep...That's what I'm gonna do. SALUD

Hi Shari,
Things are warming up here too. Yesterday got into the 60s. This AM a brisk 26 f. We're heading down Friday can't wait for that bracing dip!
P.S. Got your pistachios AKA "crack nuts"

Gees, I wonder what damage they will do to that lower road. There are places that it seems it would be difficult for a big truck to drive.

We won't like the noise and dust, but then again, we are looking forward to the pavement out on the main road.

We would even be happy to listen to them if they would then re-do the Vizcaino road!

Guess, we will have to watch the pups closer on the way to their daily run on Pig Beach --- they are still quite car ignorant.

Oh, BTW, the big storm took so much of the sand away from Pig Beach. It was beginning to come back when we left----is it still returning?

Along with the oranges, a good amount of sand was missing.

today is one of those perfect, drop dead gorgeous days...gentle breeze, in the 80's and a 10 foot swell and glassy....oooo la la.

abalone test was today and they are fat and happy and ready to be harvested if the swell allows.

It has still be unseasonably warm here with mostly south winds. I am wondering, how far north these southerlies have been blowing?

our winds up here have been all over the map...some southerlies too and unseasonably hot temps...very strange weather indeed. We even had a big southwest swell this week...Looks like this weekend will be summer hot again...lovin it!

Has the southerlies brought the warmer water up your way? It's still about 75 degrees here.

the water has warmed up a bit...usually this time of year is "ankle numbing" and takes your breath away when you dive in...but now I just gasp a bit!! almost swimable....at least for this canuck.
