RIP with a hardy thank you to all my brothers and sisters who served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America and died as a Soldier,
Sailor, Airman, Marine, Coast Guard or National Guard and all Civilians who died while supporting our armed forces as they made our country a better
place to live.

A Salute to all veterans who gave all..... and a very heartfelt thank you to all persons, be it military or civilian, who sacrifice to protect a
country I love and appreciate.
If you can read these posts, thank a teacher. If you can read these posts in English, thank a soldier.
All gave some, some gave all..........

Well, I still want to know why Howard, who forecasts a change in the dates of traditional U.S. holidays, hopes the Cinco de Mayo (which doesn't seem
to be all that big a deal in Mexico) will stay the same.

A poor attempt at humor. I know that Cinco d Mayo is not really celebrated in Mexico but my attempts at a joke are sometimes lame.

Ah, what the hey.........Today is just as much Cinco as it is Memorial Day and it would be sinful to ignore a good reason to party, so...SALUD.

Here's a site I found very touching, especially looking at the names of the GI's from my home town of Watsonville, CA. Let's not ever forget those
who have given their lives for their country.

My jokes don't always fly either, Howard--sorry I missed the point.

In this case, it's a fringe element of a religion that took down the towers. |
actually, it was al queda and they happen to be islamics. the motivation of al queda is not religion, the motivation is hatred of US policy and
actions |
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and the Imam
Take the time to listen to the man (Imam) speak in clear tones and in the english language about what ALL Muslims should do... and
what the United States is required to take action on to correct for their benefit, in America... and by the way... try and take and carry a Bible to
Saudi Arabia, and yes while there take a stroll by the Ka’ba, oh and tell them to change their system to fit yours particular "twist" on life ....

One may conclude that this wave of PC (Political Correctness) on Islam, is in preparation for a military strike into the Tribal Areas in Pakistan....
they have just been put on "notice" by our Government... and we would not want ALL of the Islamic faith to think that we are totally against them...

A fundamental difference between Islam and most major world religions is that there simply is no central authority. Perhaps most Americans either
don't know that or don't understand what the distinction means. The video presented an Imam. An Imam, is in fact, a prayer leader. It is the Mullah,
who acts as, (if I may make an analogy) his own Pope. Anyone, if they are willing to undergo enough training, such as memorizing the Quran, is capable
of establishing themselves as a Mullah, and thereby able to foist here own interpretation of the Quran on any and all followers. As opposed to Roman
Catholic priests, who are accountable to the Vatican, once someone establishes themselves as a local leader, they are basically free to pursue their
own agenda, however radical it my be.
My personal problem with Islam is that, whether it's the media that fails to cover the moderate Muslims, in favor of the sensational, or that moderate
Muslim leaders are failing to step up to denounce the radicals, whichever is correct, or a combination thereof, it does nothing to further the cause
of moderate Islam and its adherents.
