a new way to avoid Cuidad Constitucion...
this just in from Loreto_Community Yahoo Group. starting July 16th, AereoCalafia will be offering round trip service between Loreto and La Paz.
flights are Fridays and Sundays; one way fare is 990 pesos. aereocalafica.com
the announcement goes on to say 'hopefully, regular flights can be negotiated between Loreto and La Paz'...it's not clear if that means more days of
the week or that the above is a trial thing or what...
reality\'s never been of much use out here...

That is what we pay to go TJ-La Paz on Volaris, booked a month or more ahead. Not a real deal, and you still need a car? But, add up gas, time and
mordida, it may be a push.

Gotta agree with bb on this. Most of the folks who have, are, or will be facing the gauntlet in Cd. Constitutcion will be driving because that is
their that's their preferred mode of transit.

And lets face it, if you drive down to La Paz from Loreto, you are shopping, banking, dealing with legal issues, and eating out.
I can't imagine not hitting the stores when I'm there, so I need my Jeep/or Pick up to haul back all the stuff I've bought.
Homex is looking for a way to get back and forth to Mexico City without having to make that drive to La Paz from Loreto, in my opinion.
Homex has a lot of clout in Mexico and deep pockets. I understand that Homex is the largest home builder in Latin America. Maybe they can get to
Aeromexico........

Me too-- I want my car when I'm in La Paz. And by the time you get to the airport, check in, board, deplane, and get into La Paz you haven't saved a
huge amount of time.
But-- if you're flying from La Paz to the mainland you'll save a lot by not parking in the La Paz airport at about 130 pesos per day. So it may be
good for mainland commuting.

What we need is a fleet of Amphibious vehicles we could then just boat around CCD!
And still have a car when we got to our destinations.

A smart Mexican taxi driver could station himself outside of town and offer RT service into town, 1 hour limit, for $10. He could possibly earn
$80/day. The kid watching the customers' car could earn $16/day.

Unfortunately I can't imagine Aeromexico servicing Loreto when they don't even service San Jose out of San Diego anymore.

Aeromexico. We've flown them several times in the past two years to destinations on the mainland. My take is that after they went private, they became
too much like the US legacy carriers as far as service and amenities are concerned. JMHO
