Any Nomads near Plaza Del Mar K52

Hi All, I am now a true resident of Baja Norte. Do you folks ever meet up for social hour? Splash is a great place. We would like to meet some other nomad members. Please let us know.

Dennis, I just sent a u2u to Keri. I believe she runs the area by the Pyramid, but not sure. I am looking forward to meeting her.
Splash is a great restaurant and bar, plus the fishing out front is fabulous!

Another place you may want to see is Margaritaville in Puerto Nuevo, operated by Dave. He's a long time Nomad.

I'll look for Dave at Margaritaville! Found a new restaurant on the last road in the middle. It was great too.

La Barca, never heard of it.

Why don't we plan a social hour for all. It would be fun.

A social hour sounds good to us.
We are for the most part, weekenders in Baja
so if it is planned on on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday count us in (expect this weekend, hubby flew to Cabo to get some sun!)
Just let us know where!

Margaritaville would be perfect for a get-together. It's a well stocked gin-mill with great food.

Hi Dennis

How about a Gaggle?

"The nickname is thought to stem from the idea that these more freewheeling press sessions, where the talk is much more rapid and free-form, are like a "gaggle of geese" honking. For example, the blog maintained by Newsweek magazine's political reporters is called The Gaggle; on their main page, their definition for "gaggle" when used to refer to the Washington, D.C. press, is "a flock of reporters pecking at a politician."

Chili Cook Off info

Time is flying by! Saturday, August 21, 2010 is the date to head for La Bufadora and participate by cooking or tasting (or both) in the 15th Annual "Anything Goes" Chili Cook-Off sponsored by Los Gordos Restaurant. You have plenty of time to gather your teams and test your recipes on your friends and neighbors.

In addition to the chili cook-off there will be a Salsa Contest (the food, not the dance – well, maybe there'll be some dancing later in the day.) There will be cash prizes for the best chili, best salsa and best booth.

And be sure to check out the new Facebook page for the cookoff:

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/group.php?gid=1159725117...

and join the group!

Schedule of Events:

10:00 a.m. Chili Competitors may set up

12:00 noon Official cooking start time for chili

1:00 p.m. all salsas must be presented at registration by

1:30 p.m. Salsa judging –

2-2:30 p.m. Salsa results announced

3:00 p.m. Chili judging and tasting by the public begins (for the general public: please do not approach the booths for tasting before 3:00)

3:30ish Chili results announced

After that…just party on!

Spectators can sample all the chili and salsas entered for just $1 (spoons and bowls provided). Tickets for the on-going drawing may also be purchased, 6 tickets for $5. Tasting and judging starts at 3:00 but come early and stay late!

See you there!!!!!!
