Fuel prices for August 2010

Any one know the current prices below the border zone; like at Baja Cactus in El Rosario?
Thanks.

Also, what if any are the current rules regarding bringing full gas cans from the US into Mexico? I had heard that this was a no-no and you could be forced to turn around if they found them during a Revision search. Still the case, or have the rules changed?

Don't risk it... It isn't worth being turned back into the U.S. and then disposing of the gas!

This has happened to 4Baja's friends...

I have had my empty can inspected at Tecate.

Gas is cheaper in Baja and just as good... why think of it? Bring empties across and fill them at Baja Cactus.

Since the above, Antonio has made the following post:

Fuel prices / August 20th, 2010

New fuel prices, effective since August 14th, 2010...

Magna.............$ 8.13 pesos per liter
Premium..........$ 9.55 pesos per liter
Diesel..............$ 8.53 pesos per liter

These prices are in liters... since 1 gallon = 3.7854 liters and today (August 20th, 2010) 1 dollar = $12.30 pesos (+/-), we can calculate the approximate price per gallon:

Magna.............$ 2.502 dollars per gallon
Premium..........$ 2.939 dollars per gallon
Diesel..............$ 2.625 dollars per gallon

Happy and safe travels my friends!!!
