The Nature of the Beast

Well, Bernie pointed out the fact that the post I started was one of the most viewed.
So, I went back to see what others were popular threads.
Guess what, I now realize that the reason there is so much bad news is because it seems, that is the only thing we are interested in.
I use this line quite often. If you watch soap operas, you live soap opera lives. And, it's true.
The controversial or negative issues on here are what gets the most attention rather than pictures (when they were around), info on Baja, or trip reports.

Kinda like car accidents n soap operas. Perhaps we should all take a time out and "smell the roses" rather than exhaust fumes and air conditioning.

Like Faulkner said, "There's only one thing to write about : the human heart in conflict with itself."
When funneled to Baja-related subjects, it still applies.

We are products of evolution with many vestiges of our animal selves still with us and in fact necessary. But along with this comes territorialism(just look at politics in the Off-Topic section) and some primal fascination for bloodlust and sex....we aim to higher ground but our ancestry remains with us....all part of the package.
