made it! Tecate-Blvd 2000-Popotla

I recently asked for help with this route and many people responded with suggestions. Just wanted to report that we made it easily with only one small glitch. We crossed at Tecate at 7 a.m. Took us one minute. We were the only vehicle. Turned right at the bottom of the hill on Juarez, signed "Tijuana Cuota." Five miles later at the fork in the road we turned left to "Tijuana Libre." 11 miles later we saw Blvd. 2000 heading off to the left and we pulled into the left turn lane at the light where the sign pointed to Rosarito. Whoops. When the light turned green we found ourselves facing 3 lanes of traffic heading at us! We eased back onto the main road and then pulled into the left turn lane at the SECOND light so we could enter the southwest bound lanes. Now it is smooth sailing. The sign to the toll road in Cantamar is a bit hidden but we caught it in time and cruised on down the road. Lots of road construction here and there---this is going to be a superhighway one of these days. Maybe even in my lifetime.
Thanks for all your help. So good to be back home in Baja Sur!

Good job!

If you miss Cantamar onramp, then down the road across from 'Splash' and just before the Half-Way House is another onramp... and a few miles more a third at La Fonda/ Alistos... miss all three and you will have a most pleasant drive to Ensenada on the free road... little traffic and beautiful country... one grade leaving La Mision that is not as bad ast the one south of Santo Tomas.

I did the same thing a couple of days ago. Often times Mexico does not advise drivers correctly-it can be confusin and amusin:tumble:biggrin:
