Keep on Dreaming!! Adelante...

Well, I never thought that a lazy Friday daydream would generate such ideas and memories. Great inspiring. For me, you guys made me think about the community that a train on the peninsula would bring.

History showed us commercial motives for the rail but after living in Mulege for two years, the appeal of the train also is tied to my daughter's Mexican relatives there. Most of her family and cousins have not come north to the border or even to Baja Norte. You pass the shrines and you know the stories of some then you say, yes a train would bring development but it could also be a safe transportation option for residents of Baja California. My daughter's abuela won't venture far onto "la carratera" after several cousins perished in various accidents. Others will never go to Land's End or la frontera because they do not have cars they feel can make the drive.

So, that train could be a real transportation gem not only for economic rewards but for the link it would create between families and friends.

I'd love to see it happen in my lifetime. I'd be on the inaugural trip. If you're still reading I will throw out a question....add your idea for the name of this railway...I'm still pondering mine so I await your thoughts so I can get some clever input!!!:smug:

As far as development goes

I don't think a train would be much of a contributing factor.
As far as a name goes, I think it should be called the " David K. Railway".:lol:

I like Escalera Terra.
(But that won't help it get built any faster than the Escalera Nautica)
