Didja know.......

There are actually two Days of the Dead. The first of the month is for Niņos and the second, today, for adults.
I'm not referring to celebrants, but the deceased..........DEP.

As You mention Dennis, many here celebrate, Dia de Los Angelitos on Nov. 1st, and Dia de Muerto's for adults on Nov. 2nd. Others such as in Xoxo, start their celebration Oct 31st. All Hallows Eve and continue thru Nov. 2nd. Than there are those who live in Teotitlan de La Valle, who welcome their dead on Nov. 1st, and at app. 4 p.m. on Nov. 2nd walk their dead to the edge of the village accompanied by fire crackers and copal to send them back to their world.
Tonight I will go a small group to a village where we will decorate the tumba of a Canadian couple who have no one to remember them. Someone should remember them after all. And again when I come home, I will light the candles of my father's alter and sit alone and visit him awhile before I retire. Tomorrow I will take the alter apart and eat tangerines and peanuts.

That's just beautiful! My Dad died Nov. 1 two years ago...I like to think that while the window between the two worlds was open that all of our loved ones previously passed came to take him from the suffering of Cancer.

Whenever I hear that rainy, chill wind blow. I think it may be time to head for Mexico. Tengo que obedecer mi corazon!
