remeber the bicycle guy ChrisX??

remember the thread by the new kid...ChrisX? Well, he arrived here yesterday...he helped Sirenita drive her car back from Ensenada with baby Izaak.

He listened to everyone's advice and decided he didnt want to chance riding on the highway...didnt want to hurt anyone else...pretty smart guy eh! so he looked for a ride.

Just thought some of you might want to know....so he wasnt a troll...he's a real live adventurer and is peddling to Tortugas now and will only be riding off highway roads and camping along the way...nice quiet guy...thanks Chris for helping sirenita out!

What did he do while there?

Chris only came here to help Sirenita get her car and baby home. He refused to sleep like a king in the rock room and pitched his teeny tent in the driveway. After a long conference with Juan, he left for Bahia Tortugas.

He had never heard of a troll before and laughed when I explained what it was and that some folks thought HE was one. I liked it that he was flexible and open minded enough to change his plan....to heed advice...and not want to threaten other's lives for his sake...a rare thing these days. He is from the Portland Oregon area and his bike is his means of transportation.

More proof that the ride sharing efforts here on Nomad DO work! Go Chris...he'll most likely be wanting a ride north sometime too...he is swearing off computers on his trip...just wants to camp in remote areas.

On the drive down, he might have gotten the message loud and clear from the driver's perspective. I'm glad he's enjoying Baja CA. Plenty of roads for him and his bicycle - he'll see more of Baja on those roads anyway.

As far as this place is concerned, it's a new poster that comes in primarily to cause trouble...just like the Goat has been doing for years.:lol:

Very wise decision

See image. I think Chris is smart for not continuing. I took this shot a few months ago, southbound Mex-1 near Santa Rita. About a mile ahead of him I passed his riding buddy. In both cases, I was able to give them a wide berth as I passed because there was no oncoming traffic. Also we weren't in a curve or a hill or a vado or missing asphalt or construction zone ...

I'm thinking that thing flying on the 3rd wheel is actually a windsock so you flyboys know which way to land on Mex-1 when needed<hehe>.

Yeah....for sure. And riding a beautiful country road without fixating your mind on the THUMP THUMP sound that is the end of your life must be wonderful.
