Bancomer Bank
I wanted to relay a quick story about our recent experience at Bancomer Bank in Mulege. A few weeks ago we withdrew a fairly large sum of money from
the bank, the teller counted the money out in front of us using a machine, while 10 people impatiently waited behind us. When we got home we
discovered that we were 1500 pesos short. We didn't go back to the bank until Friday, without us saying a word, the teller handed us a receipt showing
that she had deposited the 1500 pesos back into our account.

Sounds like an honest mistake to me, and they corrected it as soon as they discovered it. I say well done BanComer!

Sounds like a bundle of flowers is in order....
Great story.....better than the gloomy stuff here sometimes.
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

Had a similiar experience last year with a deposit from the Rotary pig race fundraiser. I kinda wondered at the time how she determined who was
shorted but she had the shortage in an envelope, waiting for me to come back.
AND she is down right gorgeous to boot

What worries me about this story is that the counting machine miscounted the money. Banks in the US rely on them blindly.
The reverse happened to my girlfriend a couple of years ago when she went to deposit some one-hundred dollar bills. I was waiting outside and I saw
her come out of the bank with an awful look of consternation in her face. She told me that the teller told her she was a hundred dollars short. Since
we had just withdrawn the bills from a different bank, I went with her back inside the bank and the teller immediately said that she had
“accidentally” dropped one of the bills on the floor when she was counting them. Sure.
From now on, we count the money in front of tellers before we give it to them.

That sounds like Mariella. She's great! I have known her for years from her previous employment. How lucky we are to have her at the Mulege Bancomer.
Before Bancomer came to Mulege we had to go to Santa Rosalia. The service there was terrible. I closed my account there out of disgust.
It might be worth it to open an account in Mulege just for the privilege of transacting with (and looking at  ) Mariella.

No doubt the Bancomer people are great in Mulege-
But I take every opportunity to remind Bancomer home insurance shoppers that of the four "insured" homes at Posada Concepcion damaged in hurricane
Jamina (15 months ago), all claims were denied by Bancomer. The statement was made that if the houses were constructed properly they would not have
been damaged in the first place. The Bancomer insurance wing is located on the mainland.
Things are expensive, but at least we get a free trip around the sun once a year

You mean you did not like being immersed in the Mexican Culture way of doing things. I went the other morning to make a simple deposit and was at the
door when the 8:30 chime rang and there was a line outside of the door, still took me an hour to make a deposit. Do hear lots of interesting stories
in line however, so all is not lost.
Guess I could have gone to Mulege which is a little further away and still have saved time.
